1.5U CubeDrive
Overview
Dawn’s single-thruster CubeSat Propulsion Modules range from 0.8U to 2U+ in size. They include a single B1 Thruster, tanks, valves, and control electronics. The structure is additively manufactured as a single monolithic piece per ECSS standards and includes both fuel and oxidizer tanks. Health monitoring instrumentation includes integrated and isolated thermocouples, pressure sensors.
Green Propellants:
Utilizes nitrous oxide (N2O) and propene (C3H6), which are safe to handle and widely available, unlike ADN or HAN.
Reliability:
Propellants are self-pressurizing and don't require complex controls or moving parts to maintain performance.
High Performance:
Delivers 285 s of Isp, similar to bi-propellant hydrazine-based alternatives, but with less mass and smaller volume.
Suitable for any CubeSat:
Dawn can provide stand-alone thrusters or a complete propulsion system including tank, feed, and instrumentation & control.

- Summary
- Based in New Zealand, the Netherlands, and the United States, Dawn Aerospace is a space transportation company building non-toxic satellite propulsion systems and same-day reusable launch vehicles. Non-toxic, high-performance, and turn-key propulsion systems for CubeSats, ESPA, and ESPA-Grande satellites. For small satellites, they simplify systems and replace the poisonous and highly-regulated fuel, hydrazine. For CubeSats, they increase capabilities by supplying 1,000x higher performance than electric-based propulsion systems. Same-day Reusable Launch Vehicles that do not require specialized space-launch infrastructure, integrate with everyday aircraft in nearby airspace and launch as often and routinely as commercial aviation. By building these technologies in tandem, Dawn is creating the end-to-end architecture required for delivering, positioning, and returning spacecraft in a highly scalable and environmentally conscious way.
