Overview

Fugro SpaceStar® is a GNSS navigation software solution providing real time high accuracy position (<10cm), velocity (<5mm/s), and timing (<5 ns) (PVT) for satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) based on the Precise Point Positioning (PPP) technique.


SpaceStar® provides sub-decimetre absolute positioning and nanosecond-level timing onboard LEO satellites without additional ground infrastructure for the satellite operator. SpaceStar® uses multi-constellation and multi-frequency Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) technology. The service computes precise real-time orbit and clock corrections which are delivered via L-band signal from 7 geostationary satellites. The payload architecture includes Fugro’s proprietary L-band demodulator and positioning software to augment the positioning information received from the onboard GNSS receiver. SpaceStar® leverages the extensive Fugro expertise of delivering GNSS augmentation services for professional applications. Fugro’s dual primary network is built upon Global Navigation Satellite Systems, dual network control centers interconnected with trunk lines, and more than 100 geodetic reference receivers positioned on all continents, guaranteeing high-quality data and services with proven uptime of over 99.999%.
